Access your benefits remotely with Teledoc
Blue Shield of California participants don’t always need to visit a doctor to use their benefits. They can choose where, when and how they receive care.
Blue Shield members have access to licensed doctors via Teladoc, 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
Teladoc is a national network of U.S. board-certified physicians, licensed in California, who are available by phone or video.
Members can take use this benefit for advice on treatment for a non-emergency condition. It can be used for short-term prescription refills and is a convenient way to receive care when away from home.
Teledoc doctors can treat many medical conditions, including cold and flu symptoms, allergies, respiratory infection, bronchitis and sinus problems.
All Teledoc doctors are practicing primary care physicians, pediatricians and family physicians with an average of 20 years of experience. They are board certified, licensed and credentialed every three years.
How to get started
1. Set up your account
Visit teladoc.com/bsc, complete the required information and click on “Set up account.” You can also call Teladoc at (800)-TELADOC (835-2362) for help.
2. Provide medical history
Your medical history provides Teladoc doctors with the information they need to make an accurate diagnosis.
To update your medical history:
Web: Log in to teladoc.com/bsc and click “Update medical history.”
Mobile: Visit Teladoc.com/mobile to download the app. Log in, go to the menu icon on the top left, and click “Medical Info.”
Phone: Teladoc can help you complete your medical history over the phone. Call (800)-TELADOC (835-2362).
3. Request a consult
Once your account is set up, request a consult whenever you need care.
